Truth Behind Business Conference Calls

With all the latest technology, do you ever feel like you are out of the groove? There are so many new advanced gadgets. We used to skate board on the side walk and now they skateboard on video games with hand held controllers. Business conference calls are a unique advancement that can take the business industry to a new level. Phones are no different than any of the other latest technologies. They have come a long way too, and business conference calls held in private rooms, could be a thing of the past.

It's hard to believe the latest phones that are out. I can't even understand all the capabilities they can perform. The days of dialing are becoming extinct. We live in a push button world. You don't even have to make your calls from home or work anymore. Business conference calls can be made from driving in your car and with a headset, you don't even have to hold onto the phone. You can be anywhere in the world and make business conference calls. You may be on vacation with your family and still conduct business through business conference calls. How cool is that.

Business conference calls are phone calls in which the calling party can call more than one party at a time. Depending on the plan you have, the other parties would only be able to hear what you have to say, but not hear each other, or you can set up a plan where all the parties can not only hear what is being said, but can contribute to the conversation as well. There are business conference calls available on line now, with the right equipment, that you would not only be able to communicate on a business level, but be able to see each other speaking as well.

You may want to do some research, as usually business conference calls cost you by the minute. There are many companies offering this service, so you may want to shop around. Businesses can grow when they have meetings because, two heads are better than one. It is always nice to get input on ideas of how to better the business, problems, or even to share statistics. If you find you are making a lot of business conference calls, they even have plans that offer the option of paying by the month. This plan allows you to pay the one fee and you can talk as long as you would like with no extra charge.

Business conference calls are a very efficient, convenient way to hold a business meeting. Don't let progress stand in the way of growth because growth means prosperity.

Senior Housing Los Angeles

A Nursing Home is a place for seniors who are in need of skilled Nursing Care around the clock and have significant daily living deficiencies. In the US, nursing homes are required to have a licensed nurse on duty 24 hours a day, and during at least one shift each day the nurse has to be a Registered Nurse. Nursing Facilities provide many of the same services as other senior care options, however a nursing home's patients need more intensive senior health care than residents in an assisted living facility or board and care. Their staff provide a more intensive strategic plan skilled care nursing for elder care for seniors that need full assistance such as a Wheelchair or walker help, getting in or out of bed, rehabilitative therapy, IV or tube feeding, wound care management and Hospice care and many more.

There is no place like home. When asked, most seniors would like to remain and live and care in their homes. A person's own home represents security and independence to most people.

But, a person must be able to shop, cook, and do household chores. Many of us will lose one or more of these abilities as we age.

There are several types of senior citizen housing, some for making lifestyle changes in retirement and others for accommodating changes in the physical, social, emotional, mental and financial status of older persons.

Many healthy and active senior citizens want to remain in their own homes as long as possible, while others see the appeal in senior housing, such as moving into a retirement community which provides a wide range of near-by activities--many opportunities to enjoy life and socialize with peers. Healthy seniors can change their housing as a lifestyle choice, while seniors who are experiencing limitations due to frailty and declining health may go into some type of senior housing because they need personal care or specialized medical care. There are so many senior housing options that trying to find the best arrangement for any one person can become confusing and overwhelming.

As a family member grows older and their physical and mental conditions changes the issue of health care and housing for them in their advanced ages can become a serious problem. As the issue of rising health costs for elder care are being discussed in the public arena, more options are being made available to help seniors and their families cope with this potentially stressful situation.

Reverse Mortgages are becoming very popular with retirees especially in America. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) created one of the first reverse mortgage plans. It is a safe plan that can give an older American greater financial security. Many seniors use it to supplement social security, meet unexpected expenses, such as medical, additions in the home for wheel-chair access, and other much needed changes. Since your home is probably your largest investment, it's good to know about what a reverse mortgage can do for you. Your home must be a single family or a two-to-four unit property that you own and occupy. It also possible for some individual condominium units to qualify under the Spot Loan program.

10 Home Remedies For Arthritis Pain Relief

==============

Stretch Gently for Strength and Mobility.

When it comes to arthritis, moving hurts, but not moving destroys.

Incorrect moving harms, but intelligent moving heals.

Yoga teaches movement with proper joint alignment which helps bring deformed joints back to normal position as appropriate muscles are lengthened and strengthened.

Consider a private session with an Experienced teacher or buying a book to leam the correct poses.

But remember, Smart Yoga Exercise is the key to restoring health to arthritic joints. Work within the limits imposed by the disease, but don't let yourself be immobilized by it.

Find Relief Through Less Stress.

If you are hurting and you tense up, you hurt more.

People who have things in their lives under control will be better pain managers than people who don't.

Recent research confirms the importance of psychological attitude on arthritis pain relief.

People with arthritis need to learn how to pace themselves and not try to do everything they can possibly do on the days when they're feeling good.

All that does is make you tired and sore the next day. Try to do a little each day, whether you are having a flare-up or not.

Learn to relax. Take a lesson from natural childbirth. Childbirth is very painful, but women learn how to deal with that pain by learning how to relax.

Books and audiotapes teaching relaxation techniques are available at many bookstores

Idle joints can become painful joints. If you focus on pain, it hurts more, but if you get busy doing other things that are important to you, you're not going to feel it.

Try Night Prevention for Morning Stiffness.

Almost 90 per cent of the patients suffer from some type of Morning Stiffness.

Apply a muscle ointment at night before going to bed. It will relaxe you and gives you a psychological boost as well.

The reason? People with arthritis tend to feel much better all day if they aren't stiff when they wake up in the morning.

Your Remedy No. 4

============

Float The Pain away.

Studies have shown that floating in specially designed floatation tanks, also known as isolation or sensory deprivation tanks, can relieve arthritic pain.

You usually spend about an hour in the tank.

The pain relief is produced by stress reduction. The body is relaxing, the muscles are relaxing, and this seems to stimulate a release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers.

Water in the tanks is heated to precisely 93.5°F, the same temperature as the skin, and the surrounding air is warm and tranquil, leading to deep relaxation.

Your Remedy No. 5

============

Mix Oil and Water.

Recommendation: Heat and eucalyptus ointment, in the form of a thick, oil-based product called Eucalypta-Mint, work for both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Use that in conjunction with moist heat when feeling stiff or having pain.

Simply rub it on and wrap the joint in plastic wrap. The moist heat can be applied with warm towels, or you can soak your hands or feet in warm water.

Your Remedy No. 6

Copper Bracelet

Sometimes longevity confers respect along with age.

Artifacts that were rarely noticed in their day take on new meaning and value as they persist throughout time.

Such is the case with the copper bracelet, which for decades has been worn for arthritis relief and remains popular today.

Studies have shown that some people with arthritis seem to have difficulty metabolizing copper from the food they eat, leading to increased pain.

The dissolved copper from [a copper] bracelet bypasses the oral route by entering the body through the skin. This might be the only way arthritics ever receive the copper their bodies need -copper that studies have shown can indeed relieve pain.

Physicians remain somewhat skeptical about bracelets but don't entirely dismiss them, either.

Copper may have a role. It's possible that a copper deficiency does increase joint inflammation, and it doesn't seem that supplementing copper in the diet has the same effect as wearing it.

Your Remedy No. 7

============

Work Wonders with Water Excercise.

Ask a dozen doctors about the merits of any arthritis treatment and you'll get a dozen different opinions. But ask them about exercising in water and they all seem to agree.

Water exercises are excellent.

Your pain will be significantly reduced in the water, and you become much more flexible in water than you are in air.

The beginning exercise techniques are easy for anyone to follow. They consist of waving, walking, and bending motions performed in chest-deep water.

The more advanced movements look like aquatic dance steps designed to take advantage of water's natural resistance and gentle buoyancy.

Your Remedy No. 8

============

Get Your Spouse Involved.

Though it's only natural for a husband or wife to do whatever's possible to help a mate who's hurting, such help can often do more harm than good.

When a wife tries to do everything herself and is constantly asking her husband how he feels, she is reinforcing his pain.

Advice: Don't be attentive and supportive only when your spouse is in pain, but also when he or she is feeling good and being active.

That's the time to say, "I'm really happy to see you doing things".

Praise is really important and something people tend to forget to do.

Your Remedy No. 9

============

Use Ice to Prevent Pain.

Recommend cold treatments for those times when a joint's been stressed from overuse or overwork.

Use a gel pack but ice in a plastic bag or a bag of frozen peas will do just as well.

Apply for 15 to 20 minutes, then remove for 10 to 15 minutes. That can be repeated for hours at a time if needed.

Your Remedy No. 10

Fast on with Carrot Juice.

A vegetable-juice fast significantly reduces pain for many patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

Carrot juice, celery juice, cabbage juice, or tomato juice can be used.

Fast on nothing but the vegetable juice for one day during the first week to get started.

Follow that by alternate fasting for two days during the next week (i.e., Monday and Wednesday) and three days during the third week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).

Don't attempt any type of fasting without your doctor's supervision, however.

Tips for Care of a Baby Born Prematurely

Premature babies are generally considered to be those born at a under normal baby's weight, basically less than 3 pounds or 1300 grams. Since they are born before the due date, their vital organs are usually not yet perfectly developed. This condition leads to various health problems and usually causes in growth and development. Due to their weakened and unstable condition, these babies need special care. Parents with a premature baby have to know the proper care to give to ensure that the baby is always in an optimum condition. If you have a premature baby, here are some tips on care that you can try:

1. Baby's Growth and Development: After leaving the hospital, it is important for you to take your baby to the doctor for regular check-ups. The doctor will mainly check your baby's weight and recommend the best foods and supplements such as vitamins and iron. Vitamins are beneficial to help your baby grows and stay healthy. Extra iron is also needed as premature babies often lack sufficient iron. Taking iron drops for 4 months or more will help your child obtain the same amount of iron as a full-term baby.

For the first two years, the growth rate of your baby will often be less than that of a full-term baby. They tend to be smaller during the first two years. To track your baby's growth, your doctor will probably use a growth chart specifically for premature babies.

2. Feeding Schedule: Premature babies need frequent feeding. Generally, they will need about 8 to 10 feedings per day. The interval between feedings is about four hours, otherwise he or she may become dehydrated. He or she may spit up after feeding but this is normal. When should start to introduce solid foods? Doctors will usually recommend starting solid food at 4 to 6 months after your baby's original due date calculated for a normal full-term birth. You need to wait longer to give solid food as the swallowing ability grows more slowly than a full-term baby does.

3. Sleeping Habits: All babies should lie on their back when sleeping, not on their stomach. This is important to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), which is a syndrome that causes unexplained death in babies younger than one year old.

4. Vision and Hearing: Some premature babies suffer from an eye disease called Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). This disease is caused by abnormal small blood vessels growth in the eyes. However, this disease only occurs in babies born at 32 weeks of pregnancy or earlier. If your baby suffers from this disease, your doctor may advice you to see an eye specialist. In addition, premature babies are likely to have hearing problems.

5. Traveling by Car: When you travel with your baby using a car, make sure that he or she uses an infant car seat. Install it in the back seat and keep an eye on your baby during the trip. You can use your rear-view mirror to look at your baby. Never leave a baby alone in the car, even if it is only a few minutes.

If you have a premature baby, think positively as it will help you face the problem in a much easier way. You need to be optimistic that he or she will grow normally just as full-term babies, since most premature babies catch up and seem no different after age two. In addition, show your affection to your loved one since it is important for his development.

5 Ways to a Better Staycation

More people than ever are opting to stay home for vacation rather than travelling far and wide. That doesn't mean you should spend your time off cleaning out your closets or filing away papers from your home office desk. If you take a vacation from home, allow yourself to get away from it all while staying put. Discovery the mysteries of your local area, take day trips, and enjoy a bit of relaxation from the comfort of your own home. The point of a staycation for many is to save money. But that doesn't mean you have to scrimp on the fun.

1) Grab a community paper. You would be amazed at the offerings in your very own hometown. Instead of going to an expensive art exhibit, consider that arts and crafts fair near your house. Pick up a few creative ideas and try out a few yourself.

2) Have a spa day at home. Take a bath with a hint of rose oil. Light a few candles and do your nails. Use that hair conditioner that requires you to rinse after fifteen minutes. Give yourself the gift of time by pampering yourself completely.

3) Develop gadget-free zones. Let your phone go to voicemail. If people know you are there, you might be tempted to fall back into your normal routine or sneak in an hour or two of work. Saying 'no' to others while saying 'yes' to yourself can be habit-forming. What better time to practice the power of 'no' than on vacation?

4) Unplug. It might be tempting to check emails, send that company fax, or follow up on a few business phone calls. Resist the urge by unplugging your computer from the wall and putting away your gadgets for the extent of your staycation.

5) Invite friends. The best motivation can often come from visitors who are interested in exploring new places with you. Especially if they are from out of town, your friends can give you the proper impetus to enjoy an excursion beyond your own walls.

Some of the best things in life are free. A staycation may not match the joys (or rigors) of a Caribbean cruise, but it sure can help you realize there's no place like home.

Window Coverings 101 - To Inside Mount or to Outside Mount, That Is The Question

After much thought this morning I have gathered thoughts on the best way to answer a question from a client that came to me yesterday. Specifically, their question was more about Window Coverings in general rather than a specific type of covering. This gives me a unique place to start which really should be the way I start all my articles. The question was: "What is the difference between "Inside Mount" and "Outside Mount" when it comes to Blinds, Shades & Shutters?" I have laid out the basics below so please read on...

The first thing to understand is when selected "mount type" in Window Coverings; you may not have a choice at all. If your home builder mounted the glass or window frames so that you do not have a Window Well (a recessed area which holds the Window frame and glass) you don't have a choice.

There simply is no "inside" to order a Blind or Shade made as an Inside Mount. That being said, I would like to address the large portion of readers who do have the choice of how their Blind are mounted.

Determine your goals -

Do you want the most privacy? The most light control? The lowest price? The least obtrusive style?

If so, you are describing Inside Mount Window Treatments. They fit neatly inside the home builder's window well and are by far the most popular way to mount Window Blinds. I have an illustration of Inside Mount Blinds applications which can be seen here.

Do you want to enlarge the look of your Window? Do you want to frame your view? Are you mounting to a door or to a window where there is no window well to allow an inside mount?

If so, you are in need of an Outside Mount Window Treatment. They mount onto the face of the wall surface and normally mount above the window header a few inches to allow for brackets. It is also important to order these Window Covers a few inches wider than the window to make certain you get privacy on both sides of your Blind or Shade. Again, I have assembled an illustration here to show the differences of the two styles and how to measure for each.

Next week, I will go over Window Covering Installation in detail.

World Peace And Success Of Our Children Made Impossible By The Media - A Vision Failed For Ratings!

If greatness is achieved by the accumulation of the small things we do on a daily basis then why do we teach our children to be overly cautious? Have them run away from a stranger, instead of helping them? To be careful the world instead of embracing it? Are we letting the few control the masses and at the same time setting our children up to fail? I remember when I was reading about Ted Turner, one of the thing that struck me was the fact that his vision was peace through the flow of information. That is one of the main reasons he came up with a channel that most of us know. That by informing people of what was going on around the world we would get a better understanding of each other, be more tolerant and somewhere in there hopefully he thought we would become more willing to help others.

The answer to the questions above is all the same, fear. We have become so afraid that without realizing it we are installing fears in the hearts of children. When it comes to this the media is little help, in fact it seems like if it can´t install a fear or two in you then it is not worth the airtime. Since when did it become more newsworthy to hear about a kidnapping, a bombing, the crash of the stock market, Brittney Spears shaving her head and celebrities arguing on television than someone stopping to help you change your tire on the side of the road? Even better, since when did those things become more newsworthy than people inviting strangers into their home during the events in Louisiana? How come the news consists mainly of events to scare and warn you rather than news to inspire you and encourage? What is the benefit of giving you 55 min worth of "newsworthy" material and then a 5 min happy ending story?

You may be thinking at this point, how horrible it would be if your child was kidnapped, how horrible it would be if something bad happened to your child, your grandchild or even someone you love. But why is it OK for you to install fear into the hearts of the young ones, why is it OK that you teach them to be afraid of everything? Now don´t get me wrong, I do believe in being cautious, after all when you see fire you do know not to stick your hand in it. But do you go running away simply because there is a candle burning, do you tell your children to just run to the safest place you they can think if when they see that vicious flame on the candle? So we all hear the horrible stories about children being kidnapped, murdered and so on.

Yes it is a horrible thing, but how is it any worse that a great vision of men like Ted Turner, Walt Disney and others is being used to do more damage to our children than good anymore? Not directly to the children but by presenting the world to adults as if there is something to fear around every corner? Imagine if Mother Theresa would have been taught what we are teaching our children today? Do you think she would have done all the small deeds she did every day that eventually made her what we all know her as today? After all, she had to start with a single stranger that she reached out and touched, then another one, and another one. Why didn't she run away? Why wasn't she afraid like our children are today?

What would she have become if she would have had the same fears installed in her as we install in our children today? Once you start teaching your child to fear some things, do you think the child will know what to fear or what not to fear? Will they start fearing more than less? Chances are they will, and what holds most people back from becoming what they want in life? The answer is simple, fear. There is nothing in this world that limits you to reach your full potential like fear does. So what makes it OK for you to install those types of fears in children, what makes it OK for us to limit their future for our own fears and are those fears based on factual things? Are we limiting our children because of an exception and are we breeding the fear without reason?

Many of you at this point will probably be thinking how in the world I can say something like this. How can he tell us not to warn our children about all the dangers out there? What is something happens to my child, or me? Well I am not telling you not to be cautious or not to tell your children of what could happen. In fact you should warn them, just like you do with getting burnt on fire, or not to stand underneath a tree during a lightning storm. Most of you are probably thinking, well it is not as likely that they are stuck my lightning as being kidnapped by a stranger! Well the statistics are actually quite shocking, your child is 2,5 times as likely to be hit by lightning as it is to be kidnapped by a stranger, in fact it is almost 4 times as likely that the child will die from heart disease than to be kidnapped by a stranger, and they are just about 15 times as likely to commit suicide than be kidnapped by a stranger.

So you still think you are installing a justified fear in your child? Or can it be that the great vision of world peace and the flow of news is being used to manipulate your mind into believe that the world is a big scary place where you need to be afraid of everything? So the next time you think about warning your child about strangers and that they could possibly be kidnapped by one, just remember they are twice as likely to be killed in a plane crash than to be kidnapped. What is the difference, the media and information flow will make sure that you get the bad news many times over. Maybe it is time to question our judgment, to question the information you are being given and put things into perspective. After all, why in the world would you want to help in limiting your child's potential to become the next Mother Theresa, Ted Turner, Walt Disney or Donald Trump.

7 Self Care Strategies to Pamper the Busy Working Mom

As a way of honoring yourself this Mother's Day, I encourage you to practice some of these self care strategies that have been helpful for me and my clients:

1. Give yourself permission to add self care to your life. It's OK for it to be all about you sometimes. Think of self care as any act of nurturing, meaning anything that enhances your level of health, wellness and happiness. Look at all areas such as physical, mental, social, spiritual and financial. Paying an overdue bill can do just as much for your level of wellness sometimes as a warm bath.

2. Recognize and blast the barriers. Ask yourself: what is preventing you from making self care an everyday occurrence? Some of my clients' barriers that we often work through are feelings of guilt, lack of time, finances, lack of support or the need for perfectionism. If any of these ring true for you, take some time to determine a plan as to how you can overcome them. As Dr. Phil says.."You can't change what you don't acknowledge".

3. Ditch the Superwoman Syndrome. This syndrome is adding unnecessary stress and sickness to our lives. We place such unrealistic expectations on ourselves. The guilt we feel as mothers often fuels this Superwoman Syndrome. Start letting go of your mental chatter; practice saying No and remember no one's life is perfect. As mothers we need to take Superwoman off the pedestal and start putting a more realistic, imperfect, yet happier Mom up there.

4. Practice acts of self care on a daily basis. Start creating a daily habit routine. You can download a Five Daily Habit Sheet from my website under free resources - YumMe MumMe Coaching.

5. Remember that small acts can have big pay offs. It is the small yet consistent acts that really pay the biggest dividends toward your health. Instead of working out one hour every fourth day, try 25 min on daily basis. The smaller acts are more likely to become a routine.

6. Allow yourself to dream. Moms can and deserve a life beyond motherhood. If you are craving something new in your life, ask yourself what are some of the dreams you have been putting off. I support Moms in making their dreams come true. Coaching moms in winning the game of life fulfillment while thriving in motherhood is what I do best. I see mothers come alive. I see their pursuit of passion finally realized. I see their ability to thrive in motherhood increase because they are following their dreams. A personally fulfilled woman makes an amazing mother. Take advantage of a complimentary session (peggy@seekingbalance.ca ) with me and start to see what is possible for you as a woman and a mother.

7. Get yourself a pair of rose colored glasses. Having a healthy perception of life and a positive attitude is one of the best self care strategies you can practice. It is a universal law that what you focus on expands so what are you focusing on? Is your glass always half empty? Do you complain about everything and everybody? Take some time to see what your inner chatter is saying. Then consciously take steps to changing your thoughts and seeing the glass as half full. A daily reflection of gratitude and appreciation goes along way toward improving your self care, your self worth, and your whole life.

I acknowledge all mothers out there who on a daily basis participate in one of the most challenging, yet rewarding roles any woman can have in her life time. Take an opportunity to acknowledge yourself for the many big and little things you do. Honor yourself from a place of kindness and gentleness. We do what we know to be the best at the time. Forgive yourself when needed and celebrate yourself whether you think you need it or not. We all deserve to be celebrated. Here's to you...Cheers!!!

Pilates Helps Strengthen the Back!

The health benefit of Pilates have become and is still becoming recognized all around the world, particularly in North America. Pilates has become the savior for many suffering from back pain. What makes Pilates so good for the back? Well, it strengthens and restores any damaged muscle or soft tissue through the slow, balanced movements of each exercise.

Actually, the focus upon postural muscles in each Pilates individual exercise movement helps to maintain balance that is essential to providing spinal support. Each exercise places emphasis on neutral alignment of the spine - restoring the strength of the deep postural muscles that assist in maintaining the alignment of the back. This balance helps to prevent but also stop any back pain an individual may be suffering from.

The slow, structured movements developed by founder Joseph Pilates has proven its success over the years making this system world renowned. Joseph Pilates not only developed exercises that could be performed on a simple mat, but he also developed a rehabilitation program using springs in machines to create equipment that uses resistance, strength and slow movements to rehabilitate and strengthen the muscles of those who came to him for assistance in restoring their physical health. His emphasis on breathing, mental focus and slow flowing movements with and without the use of his machines have been a pivotal point in restoring the spine and back of many individuals who followed his unique exercise program.

How Pilates Mat Exercises Help the Spine:

The focus of the Pilates mat exercises is to improve the strength of the muscles in the trunk, abs and hips. The balanced movement of resistance helps improve flexibility especially in the spine and hips - which are common areas that become injured with age. By restoring strength and agility to these areas, the body is more able to stay strong and avoid injury.

Pilates Equipment: Advantages for Optimal Health:

The most popular pieces of equipment commonly used in many Pilates classes are the Wunda Chair, the Reformer and the Cadillac. If you've never heard of these pieces of equipment, let me explain:

The Wunda Chair is basically a small bench-like platform consisting of a bar attached with springs. Exercises are performed by pushing on the bar while you are either standing or sitting on the bench. This creates resistance that is essential to improving muscle strength. Another popular piece of Pilates equipment is the Reformer which consists of a sliding platform that has springs attached to one end of the frame. The platform is moved by either pulling on ropes or pushing off from the stationary bar - once again creating resistance and balance. The slow movement of each exercise motion blends effort, resistance, flexibility and strength in an exercise motion that emphasizes balance, which is essential to healthy spine alignment.

And the last piece of Pilates equipment known as the Cadillac consists of a padded platform which consists of a cage-like frame above it leading to various bars and straps that are attached by springs. You attach these straps to the hands and feet to perform exercise motions that target the hips, back and abdominal areas. These movements and the equipment are arranged so strategically so that one can restore and improve balance and strength of the back as well as the rest of the body.
